  • Safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

  • Access to a wide range of specialised play therapy resources.

  • Provides consistency, helping children feel secure.

  • Encourages deeper engagement in the therapeutic process.

Considerations for In-House Play Therapy

  • Some children may struggle with transitions or feel anxious in a new setting.

  • Travel time and scheduling may be a factor for some families.

  • Sessions take place outside of the child’s everyday environment, meaning skills may take time to generalise to real-life situations.

Considerations for Outreach Play Therapy

  • There are requirements that must be met before outreach play therapy can be offered. These are discussed at time of inquiry.

  • Potential distractions in the childcare or school environment.

  • Availability of a suitable space for sessions may vary.

  • Requires collaboration with the hosting organisation, which may not always be feasible.

Cost & Payment

In-House Play Therapy Sessions: $156

Outreach Play Therapy Sessions: $156 + Travel + Km

Healing Through Play adheres to NDIS requirements that NDIS clients cannot be charged more than private clients and to keep things transparent all clients are charged the same fee. To make things simple we have rounded down the NDIS base fee of $156.16 to $156.00.

For those requiring outreach play therapy, an additional travel and kilometre (km) factor applies.

Every client will receive a financial responsibility contract outlining the agreed costs. Private clients are required to make payment at the time of booking through the online portal, while NDIS clients will be invoiced accordingly.

If you have any questions about costs or payment options, please reach out for further clarification.

Session Structure

Each session is 50 minutes long; however, there is a 10 minute playroom reset or pack-up component.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your child's session time so they can use the bathroom and wash their hands before our session.

Need Help Deciding?

Every child’s needs are different. A chat with Katy will help determine whether in-house or outreach play therapy is the best fit and if there are any factors that may impact whether play therapy can be offered to your child.
